Il Poggio Orlando Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. it is a quality wine, an icon of the typicality and quality of Sangiovese produced in Tuscany. Deriving from the typical region of the "Colli Senesi", it is the result of the processing of Sangiovese (96%), Colorino (2%) and Ciliegiolo (2%) grapes, with vineyards of 5,500 vines per hectare and production of 80 quintals of grapes per hectare.
After manual harvesting, the must undergoes slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of around 24°C. At the end of vinification, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks for 4 months, then continues its maturation for a period of 12 months in 500 liter Allier-type French oak barrels called Tonneaux, followed by refinement for at least 6 months in the bottle before being released for consumption. This red wine has an excellent structure and a significant alcohol content, but at the same time it is soft and pleasant, ideal for accompanying important lunches and dinners.
Il Poggio Orlando Riserva Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. It has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, due to aging in wood. The aroma is intense and vinous, with hints of ripe fruit and spices. On the palate, the strong structure is balanced by freshness and notable balance. The notes of chocolate and tobacco are exhilarating. It goes perfectly with second courses of meat, roasts, grilled meats and medium and long-aged cheeses.
Serve at a temperature of 16-18° C in long-stemmed glasses and a large bowl.
It has an alcohol content of 14%.
